• Re: Pre-Amps with non-RIAA Beograms

I'm no expert but I think any decent quality preamp will do. In fact, I think you can have better sound with a separate preamp compared to the built in B&O one. Considering separate preamps can go for thousands of dollars, the sky is the limit in terms of what you can spend.

  • Re: A very special BEOLAB 5000 (1967)

I received my Beolab/Beomaster 5000 last month, along with my Beovox 5000s, Beovox 2500s (4 of them), and stereowidth box (along with Beovox 3000). It is a truly wonderful system. I feel at times as if I should donate them to a museum, but that of course won't happen!

  • Re: Beosound 1 discontinued?

I love my BS1, I have it sitting in a corner in my dining room on the metal stand made for it, connected to a sonos zoneplayer via the Aux input. Great little player. Don't use the CD much but the mechanism is a work of art.

  • Re: Flash your B&O!

Thanks! Interesting note about the Beovox 2500 when I was getting the emails from Frede during the restoration process: "However the original (1967) color (Beovox 2500) is absolutely NOT black as many people think, but a kind of very dark blue / dark grey color."

Here's a pic of my *new* from Frede at Classic Audio Beloab 5000/Beomaster 5000 combo. Sitting beside it is the stereowidth box. I have connected to it 2 Beovox 5000 speakers, 4 Beovox 2500s, and 1 Beovox 3000 as the center. Quality is simply astounding. The Beovox 2500s are simply amazing as far as their quality of work.

  • Re: Apple's "AirPlay" and B&O

I have all wireless N units and had 3 zones with airport express. No other wireless interference. LOTS of sync problems and dropouts. Even if *you* don't have any issues *A LOT* of people report issues with poor music sync and drop outs. On the other hand, complaints of that type are extremely rare with Sonos. The difference in quality of Sonos'
What is the difference between Airport Express & Airplay? If it suffers the same sound delay between the main product & linkrooms fed by an Airport Express base for instance, I won't use it, that's one reason why I'm not having any Airport Express base at the moment..If the sound delay issue
The BL4 is mounted so high because otherwise the cabinet would not have had enough space. Actually I find it quite pleasant not to have to view down while watching.
I would agree here...I find it strange that many B&O TVs/stands require a downward view.

  • Funny stories from your spouse about B&O

I thought it would be a great thread to post some funny quotes from our spouses about our B&O gear. Here's a simple example of mine: A bit ago I found a great deal on a BS9000 off of ebay. My wife is really not interested or appreciative of my B&O habit or particularly fond of hi-fi other than liking the sound of the music it plays. Proud
