I have heard it somewhere else. It was the same with 100Hz CRT televisions. B&O made a modification for that, but I don't know if that will also work for LCD.

The problem with these batterypacks is that if the batteries start leaking the contacts can be damaged. Because of that a lot of batterypacks in these BeoLit's did not survive. So it might be hard to get a hold of one. But I have found out that wanting something fast and badly makes it expensive or gives you a headache, because you can't find
