This is of course up to you, but I would never fix a VX5000 for £180... I think that any electronic repair shop used to fixing TV's and VCR's can fix the B&O version aswell, since they're not that different from Philips or Sony models. Same components basically. I used to have a black VX5000 too, sold it very cheap, since it had

My Beo store is not sending me any messages of any sorts of sales... Strange because I would be interested to know. They got my address, and my email address. So it would be great to receive some news from them. But no. Oh well I got one email offer, for a second pair of BL5's

Yes, the Pioneer is awful to look at esthetically. That's why I would never buy one. Well you should never say never.

Flappo the great: Yes I agree with you, there are indeed many shops! In Helsinki (pop 500.000) there's 2 B&O shops, on the high street of course, not even a block from each other. Picture quality as well as sound quality, clothing, women, men, cars, houses, food, etc... is all up to a matter of opinion. Personal opinion

Thanks all, and please keep the valuable info coming! However thank you all sofar, you have helped me a lot! I might have found a pair in need of some repair, and offered the man 50 euros for them, let's see, I think that is fair. 178 euros that the other ones costs feels a bit high to be honest...

plagente: BV9 is the only B&O TV that worth the money because of its UNIQUE Design and very very high quality. There is no competitor for this TV. It's too unique. It's unique, I agree, I love it too. But it's not the best regarding PQ.

I don't want to make a fuzz about it but how can the BV9 be "far ahead in terms of picture quality" when every AV magazine on the planet stands behind the Pioneer Kuro screens to be the best...

OK, thanks Craig. So I'm looking at least 50 euros in repairs IF they need it. Well, I have to check the grandfathers C40's at some point being made in the late 70-ties early 80-ties, they have to be destroyed right?
