    Right then, here goes. I don't give a stuff about the environment and I will live my life, such as there is left, to the full! If you feel the need to walk over to your Avant and bend down and switch it on everytime you use it then ..........!!!! What about the floor covering that you are wearing out? You will soon need new shoes at that rate! Don't

    Actually the hardware is not particularly complicated. I was amazed when I first took the lid off of one just how few components there are in the box. Much of the complexity is in the software and the h/w -s/w interface.     I can pretty much guarantee that the tweeter has blown and needs replacing. Very common problem . Can be confirmed by measuring it's resistance with a DMM. Should be low ohms (about 7ohms) but yours will be open or closed circuit meaning it is defective. Should not be that expensive to fix but you will need to take it to a B&O service center
