Henrik, Whenever I do a Masterlink installation I never use these little boxes. I always twist each wire and solder them and then put "heatshrink" over the connection.

A very warm welcome to Beoworld, I can confirm that "type" 6967 is a UK version. Based on the information you have provided, I would say that there is nothing wrong with the phones themselves. The phones will only ring if they receive ring indicator on the phone line which in the UK & Ireland is normally generated in the "Master"

In my view in most cases the boxes are not needed. However if you are fitting them to the ceiling and there is a large ceiling void, then you may wish to consider using them.
-
Henrik, Now we know you have a Beosound 3000 with software version 3.1, I can confirm that it should work subject to the Masterlink being correctly connected. I suggest as a first test you do the following:- With the whole system in standby and the source selected on your virtual Beoremote on your PC set to PC. Using your Beo4 in the Beosound 3000 room
-
You are right, in most cases B&O assume customers are doing a complete build, not just adding speakers to an existing room.

John, Your Beocom 2 handsets can have their software updated by your dealer. To update the software they fit a service jig to the phone which connects to two gold pads and then it is connected to a PC and new software can be download. Assuming your dealer has this jig available, then it can be done in no more than 15 minutes, however if they do not

For your information the following are the details of the B&O "in wall/ceiling" acoustic cabinet

Welcome back to Beoworld Faisal, I will take your last point first, the AVANT US type # 8490 user guide is on the B&O main web site. You need to log into "Community" to get to the downloads, so just register and you will have the user guide. The following is the connections panel of an AVANT US model You can use the DVD input to connect

Well, based on your answers I would say that the RF chips in both purchased and failing Beocom 6000's are faulty. You may have been sold them because they were faulty. If you wish to get these two handsets repaired or updated to Mark II's then please send me a PM
-
Simon, Whilst Die_Bogener may well be correct about the one or two capacitors being at fault as they smooth the + & - 15 volts for the operation amplifiers and given the symptoms you have described does support the case. However before you pull everything apart you may wish to connect the output (left & right) to another amplifier or headphones
