I bet the stereo image was atrocious... *tumbleweed*

I heard a Linkin Park song all the way through today (a new experience for me) and wasn't impressed, partly because all the sounds in it were all presets I recognised . They hadn't even bothered to make patches themselves. Only falling short of the voice, violin and soprano saxophone, the synth is the most expressive instrument IMO, although only when

pdopeter: Hi Maybe you can help me. I am using 4000 as rears for my HT. I am having a problem with the auto on/off feature. During quiet scenes the speakers turn off, then turn back on when signal is sent to rears. This noise can be very annoying during movies. Do you know how to prevent this from happening?? I am currently using RCA cables for the

Beobird: They also demonstrate deep-house music on the lab 5's http://youtube.com/watch?v=ESdPd5rvcy8&feature=related I personally prefer acoustic music, but this kind of music sounds warmer and deeper because of the bass beats. I quite like that actually! Sounds very similar to piece by qbit... I agree about the website music though! They should

I generally concur with the others. Go for BeoLab 3s or 4000s (3s are preferable!). There are some other stunningly good speakers in the B&O range at the moment, but I'm assuming they're out of the price range for a 'first hifi'. If you're still finding current range of B&O speakers to be out of your price range, then maybe look at some of the older

At present I want to create a budget but decent media centre in my flat. I have my PC attached to my Avant for watching movies and want to get a large HD rack for the storage of movies perhaps using

Henry: Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel Ooh good song, but massively overplayed... Currently listening to Blaskjar by Amiina. Very mellow...

Can't really say I know much at all about these speakers, but the midrange units look very similar to the classic PMC design (copied by ATC), often considered to be one of the best midrange units designed (they cost in the order of £300+ now I believe).

koning: soundproof: Alex: The issue will be the meter or so gap between the speakers. You mean underneath, right? I understood it as being a space underneath the entire floor, and not just where the speakers are. It can be a problem, but doesn't have to be a total spoiler - you can even place the speakers on heavy stone slabs - often done with other

Reinforces my opinion that B&O should stick to producing fantastic TVs and sound systems. They haven't been able to cut it in the digital field. Apple brings to digital media what B&O has bought to integration for me...
