  • Re: surround experience with front 5's and back 4's ?

I'd avoid it like the plague. I know the BL4s would only be playing surround sound channels, but even then I've found these rear channels often contain a large amount of data, down to surprisingly low frequencies (the movie House of Flying Daggers springs to mind). BeoLab 5s are capable of outputs exceeding 120dB @ 1m, whilst BeoLab 4s would struggle

  • Re: Hard drives system

B&O were the first company to do this in fact, back in the 80s, and have been doing it ever since. I would recommend you go to a B&O dealer to get a grip of what it does, although it's difficult to get an idea of how well it works in a B&O store, and even more difficult to explain through BeoWorld... As far as 'hard drive' storage of music goes, B&O

  • Re: BeoLab 3's and Mac tower

BeoNut1: Alex, Thank you for replying to my question. So, even if I go HDMI out from the Apple TV to a BV8 and then have BL3s connected via the PL output on the BV8, I'd still be subject to Apple TV's DAC and it's poor quality? I ask as it would seem that music in the Apple lossless format would be flowing digitally right to the BL3s, but

  • Re: BeoLab 3's and Mac tower

I know it wasn't aimed at me but I'll answer anyway as I can... When the data is transmitted to the Apple TV, it's 'lossless'. There is no loss of data along the way. Where the audible degradation comes into place is in the Apple TV's DAC, which isn't the greatest quality circuit out there. The Apple TV does however have a digital output, which could

  • Re: What's playing RIGHT NOW?

Diving Station - Boards of Canada, from the album Geogaddi (on vinyl... woop!). I'm really glad to own this album on vinyl. It's IMO one of the best electronic albums of all time...

  • Re: BS5 Any news???

I'm really really looking forward to this BeoSound/Master 5 (which sounds as though it may be a quite modular device). The issue with the BeoMedia 1 is the way in which the BeoPort interface for Windows had been adapted to work with the Beo4. It was originally designed to work with a mouse and keyboard, and 'adapting' it is never going to work. The

  • Re: The last film you watched and said "I really enjoyed that"

Henry: I'm sure quite a few will cringe with what I'm about to say, but I do quite like the latest Bond movie - Casino Royale. I watched this today on BluRay via PS3 on BeoVision 4 and BeoLab 5. I love the latest Bond movie, although it isn't really an 007 film so lacks the classic bond theme etc... (which is part of the whole 'Bond' thing for

How generous of B&O. The candlesticks especially look very nifty, almost like BeoLab 4000s...
