wonderfulelectric: You know. I think older B&O products look more well crafted and expensive as compared to the current lineup. The oiled wood the nicely curved metal bars and the old world construction of it all. You have to pay a lot more to get that level of craftmanship nowadays. Beogram 4000 is the best from this - or any era. Can't comment on the Linn /Thorens comparison though as I'm not really qualified. Chris.

jldmelb: hehe thanks, Bibendum is iconic!! Do Michelin still use him? I remember lots of lorries having illuminated Bibendums ( or should that be Bibendi?) on the cab roofs when I was a lad. Some killjoy from the Dept' of Health & Safety no doubt put an end to them Chris.

The user manual is only available in English language but the service manual is bilingual - English & I assume Danish. Chris.

With great care! Down the sides of the frets/grills there are gaps hidden by the cloth where you can push tabs on the retainig clips to release them. Be very very careful as the clips break easily. On the upper grills you need to start just above the displays and work your way up, release one side at a time. Chris.
