Max: Thanks Tom - does it have a snooze function and if so would it take some stretching to use this as a bedside alarm clock? yes, it has, and I love it, I use it every morning. If you touch any button of the BS3 within the first 10 seconds after the alarm switches on, it will let you snooze for 10 minutes, as often as you like/ can.

matheyl: What about a pair of Beolab 3? Cheers, Laurent. That is what I wanted to propose too. If BL5 and 9 is out of reach and the BL8000 doesn't suit, the only option in the actual range is BL3. But what about changing the music system? I think BS4 + BL9 is not much more expensive than BS9000 + BL8000...

If you can, you should compare them in flesh. It is difficult to tell you what is better for you, as these two speakers are very different from each other IMO. The BL1 is more powerfull, offers a bigger soundstage, whereas the BL3 are crystalclear. Even designwise, they are very different. Although being very tall, the BL1 can be very well integrated

In the german TV-show "Deal or no deal", a Beocom6000 is one of the main caracters of the show.

I use mine as an alarmclock and to listen to music before falling asleep with A8s plugged in. The sound is superb considering the size of the unit, the handling is easy as soon as you get used to it. But there are some functions that should be improved: you have to reset the alarm every day, it does not switch on automatically at the same time every

aweicc: Now only if B&O can hurry up and release the new BV7 ...... I think the word hurry does not exist in danish , at least not in Struer. I think this will be a hard experience for you patience!

You can sure buy a BV7 without centerspeaker, but I think that the sound of TV and DVD will be very strange. I would not recommand you to do that. If you have a budget and need/ want the TV right now, why not go for the 32" model WITH a center??

Daniel Seiler: ...So i am not sure i read about a thing in BS3, it was that if you set an alarm, BS3 will play at highest volume when the alarm goes off. Is this still the case? no Daniel, that is not right. You can set a volume, at witch the BS3 will switch on (alarm or manually), and then the volume will always be same. IIRC, that memorised volume

Tolga made some other very interesting designs, I remember a study on Beo5 that he made, which was totally different to the actual one. I tried to get to his HP, there were some links on the forum-page you linked us to, but they don't work... IIRC, the pictures of the BL9 were posted on the old beoworld after we had heard something about the shape

Never heard of a function called "Fast Text". What is it good for?
