Some of the London store are privately owned.
Yes, but they have to be 'managed' by someone above the shop owners and that job is B&O USA. ie. they handle the franchised/owned shop direction.

Simon, have you considered a job in PR? :) Although you've been spending, what have you bought since September/October 2008? More than £2000 of kit? I'd only really say this recession has hit hard since September. In theory, I could say the same thing (BL9s in August, BL5s in October), but I'd say that I've temporarily stopped

Bizarrely, I was told the other day that the London stores are now owned by.....B&O USA!! Only the London stores. The reason? They have more experience handling retail stores than B&O UK. Has anyone heard anything similar? BTW there's absolutely no way that the B&O stores are going to disappear. They are some of the most profitable in

As discussing the price of B&O products seems to affect B&O users, I suggest you re-word questions to ask whether us users are prepared to purchase a B&O product based on the current specifications and, if not, why not.

Didn't you ask this the other week? I remember arguing the BL9s were better and more effective. Can't we organise polls for these 'what's the best' discussions?
Correct, it does downscale. I'm not impressed either. As the HD signal has to be sent back down an analogue cable, the resulting picture is poorer than a standard

I can't fault my PS3. I wasn't a game player before I bought it, but realised it would serve various purposes (ie. I wasn't spending £300 to simply play better quality DVDs). It's ultra-quiet and performs well. I do now play the odd game, too.

I couldn't believe that all UK repairs would be sent back to Denmark. This would be totally impractical for repairing, say, a BV7 (their most popular TV). The transport costs alone, to and from the customer, would make it more worthwhile simply to replace the TV. When a TV has to go back for major repair, it's a serious issue. If it had to be

That would be crazy. The same picture processing engine from the MKI, first produced in 2004? I think someone said on here that the MKV BV7-32 was due in May/June, but why would B&O release such a major update soon after the launch of the 'monitor' version?

The black option for me, for a couple of reasons: firstly I like the white (and have thought of a white BV8, myself), but think I'd wear thin of the look after a period of time. Secondly, it's more impractical. Every time I see a white product in my local B&O, it seems to have got dirty and become a little grey. My thoughts are that it's
