    Have you tried pressing both down buttons simultaneously? Also, try deleting all the music off of the card and putting a fresh lot of files on there, the sd cards get easily corrupted.

    Darn! Where were you went i bought my 1401! hehe i got rid of it, had exactly the same issue, didn't have the splitter. Never mind! If you figure it out, PL, archive it, would be valuable information for the next person! :)

    I've dropped mine too and the hinge has a gouge, but oh well! It's really just a phone IMHO and it's still just as amazing. The hinge has the motor inside, so can only be replaced as a whole part, but i have no idea how much this would cost you...
