Well, as Ben says up above: it's two different sets, depending upon which signal you use. I would not have accepted the PAL only image. (And suspect that quite a few of those complaining about SD on BV7 are up against the same problem, in that they are feeding their sets with an inferior signal. I've seen RGB SD on BV7s that looks great.)

I don't know whether they've ever said it will adapt perfectly to any room, but they have said you have great freedom of placement. Which is true if you're not aiming for critical stereo perspective - but if you are, then you should follow traditional rules of placement. And there will always be room shapes/materials that any kind of bass

You'll find great variations in where the bass impacts depending upon placement and listening position. B&O's claim that these speakers will adapt perfectly to any room and can be positioned anywhere is a bit of a stretch. I get great differences if I place them in different places. Here's an image showing how energy dissipates in a

I'm mystified by this thread. If we all made rational buying decisions then there wouldn't be any premium brands, and we'd all be vacationing in Las Palmas - maybe. I have numerous items in my possession that are irrational acquisitions, many of which functionally are inferior to other items available but that are superior due to a combination

How are you set up? Are you playing with a standard minijack out from the airport (wire) to the AUX in or similar on your B&O? Describe the setup.

I was kind of surprised when I read that some users were dissatisfied with the image quality on their BV8s. I believe scognamiglio was very unhappy, and remember I wondered about the strength of the signal he was using. Today I was fooling around with the setup menu, and I tried the PAL output setting from my STB, instead of the RGB I had set it to

The notion of promoting B&O's strength in this fashion is great, and Martin is a strong ambassador for that competence. I wish they would push their acoustic lens exclusivity forcefully - it's a unique edge that can distinguish them. The music on the site should be acoustic. And B&O will probably pick up on the spelling mistakes before

Alex' suggestion did the trick. For anyone following this thread, I've tried Option 2 for BV8 and 0 for the Beosys6500. That worked, though it gave me no feedback to the Beolink 5000 from the Beosystem. I then tried to trick it and got tricked in return, the result being double inputs. (BV8 Option 2/Beosys6500 Option 4). Alex' advice of

There you go. I shouldn't have taken it for granted that it would have HDMI in like the BV8, but same procedure, right? You'll need a DVI-to-DVI cable, then.
-
That shouldn't be a problem. I connect my Macs with ease to my BV8. Here's what you should do. Get a DVI-to-HDMI converter cable. (DVI is the video protocol of HDMI, and is the same plug that is in your Mac to drive an external screen.) The HDMI connector goes into the BV. Then in setup you need to assign the source properly. If you're using
