Tricky! The problem here is the lack of connections on the 2300 - the later 3000 has an ML socket which obviously would free up the Aux socket. I suppose you could connect it to one of the inputs on the BV3 but I cannot see a way to remote control this. N.Radio uses the same code as Phono on the Beo4. The problem here is likely to become more common

The tape deck in the 9500 is much better specified and the programming on the 9500 can be more complex when used with a two way remote. I think the amplifier is basically the same. In short, the 9500 is better specified but the 9300 is younger. I prefer the mirror finish of the 9500 but would be happy with either.
Can I disable the TV tuner on my Avant to allow the TV button to be reassigned?
Afraid not - just the newer sets. One of the reasons I bought a BV10 rather than the BV5.

Free A8s are not to be sniffed at though!

You just need to replace the bulbs. The sliders actually move plastic films in front of a bulb - not as high tech as it looks! These are not the simplest machines to take apart as there is a lot fitted into a small box! If you have done similar work before, it is quite simple but I would get someone else to do it if I were a novice!

Why not use your computer as a source - get a Beoport and then control the music with iTunes and an iTouch. There are a number of ways of porting the music to the bedroom - either wired or wireless. I do have a BC2 but it only holds one disc. Youi would have to either duplicate your collection or carry discs about.

Agreed! You can of course solder it in place as well.

I should say that I am extremely happy with the picture on my BV10. It has the latest 200/240Hz LED screen from Samsung - I don't agree with the comment that B&O are always behind - they tend to use the best screen available and update them regularly. Obviously the technology is still moving fairly quickly but the picture on the BV10 seems as

Buy a second hand BV5 - one of the last ones - ridiculously cheap and although it does not have the 1080 screen, I have a feeling that it will offer you the picture you want. Still not completely convinced that I should not have done this myself!

Very interesting! Clearly the US models catered for connection to other makes - though without a remote, the 5500 is pretty basic! Wonderful deck though - the early ones were probably the best CD players made by B&O - TDA1541A DAC and brushless motor.
