You can certainly control a Beogram from a 2500 'cos I use the remains of one in my workshop. I don't have a 2300 at the moment but my money would be on yes, as long as it is a BG3500, 4500, 6500 or 7000.

You should be using Mk2 fully wired cables for Beolab Penta! The buzz/crackle when you change volume/tracks sounds like a duff contact problem in one of the plugs/sockets
I do not think that the manuals list the red to orange fault. This was showing up in one of mine which was repaired for me via Nobby. Brian
Until we can clear up which sockets are being used and then how the switches should be set, the red to orange could be misleading.
The Beogram 3000 doesn't have a tracking motor belt, it uses a nylon thread & pully mechanism to pull the tracking carriage across the record. Is it trying to track at all or is there a complete lack of movement? Chris.
The 3000 is the start of the modern era in tangential decks and was launched at

Try re-setting the passive to Link Option 6 and see if that cures it. Is there a Link Option 0 to turn off the IR????? Possibly.

I suggest you download the Beolab Penta user manual from this site. Make sure that you download the correct version ie Penta I, II or III Which type of cables are you using to connect the speakers to the amp? Two types of speaker cables are available. Powerlink cables have 8 pin din connectors and if you are using these then you should set the speakers

To get a passive to work with a IR sensor you need to connect the passive to the Ouverture with a masterlink cable.
I am not convinced! You asked about an MX on an LX stand - not an MX5500 stand. The LX stand will be wider to accommodate the different chassis with the speakers to the side rather than below. Brian.
Correct Brian, I misread the OP. It won't fit unless you change the base plate and I have seen some that

CD error 2 =Focus error; It has not been possible to find focus. I assume that you have tried it with originals rather than CD-r? How did you clean the laser lens 'cos those cleaning discs don't always work. Better to lift the lid on the cd mech and use a cotton wool bud. At this stage, if it were mine, I would be starting to consider a replacement
Have you tried a pair of pliers?
