PhilLondon: Alex: As a standalone product, yes, it will work. However, you can't have both of them on the same link system as link masters, just as you couldn't have two BeoSound 4000s. That is not true, you can set the BS5/BM5 as audio master or not. If not it can be on the same ML system as a N.MUSIC compatible Beosound or Beocenter. P. Glad

koning: no FM/AM radio. You have 8000 thousand radio stations on the internet!! True, and I use my N.Radio feature quite a lot too. Some members have commented about the lack of this though. Even so if I were going to buy a Beosound 5, I would still like to have my BS3000 in the same room as the audio master. For when I wanted to use the CD or the Turntable

KingOfSnake: you wouldn't even know it was mono! Agree 100% you cannot tell it is mono. Beosound 3 sounds ideal for what you are after. Craig

Alex, if that is the case I think there are going to problems with Beosound 5. From the way I see it, it is designed more to compliment your existing audio master. Not replace it. As others have said there is no FM/AM radio, or conectivity of other devices. This is why I think you still need an audio master as well as the Beosound 5. Craig

When I heard it, it was through a set of Beolab 9's. Tried a various types of music from what was stored on the Beosound. From classical to some very heavy rock and most types in between. Sound was very impressive, I would imagine the track were in a lossless format. Also tried out some N.Radio stations too for good measure. Again sound was very

wasti: Thank you Craig. Do someone have any picture of the white Beolink? I curious how it looks Pretty sure Martin will post a picture when he reads this thread. Don't have any myself. Craig

Peter : if the search facility can cope with my 29000 tracks, then I will be writing a gushing review! Peter, I know you have a Mac. So I am not aware of what the Beoport software is like compared with a PC. If you can search through all of you track with Beoport, I cannot see you having any problems doing it with a Beosound 5. They sound like MK1 Pentas to me. MK2 should have both type of connections. Speakerlink (4 pin) and Powerlink (8 pin)

Well it took me about 2 mins to get the hang of it. Very logical operation and the display is fantastic IMO. Looks very nice mounted on the wall bracket, not seen the floor stand as yet. From what I was told by my dealer the units that dealers have at the moment come pre loaded with the tracks. For some reason most albums have just one track in them

wasti: Does a white beolink 1000 really exist? Of course, not homemade Yes, but they are very very rare. Martin (Dillen) has one I believe. They was one for sale on Ebay about 6 months ago, the first one I have seen on there. Craig
