No word on BS5 being discontinued...
My understanding is that the BeoSound 5 Encore and the original BeoSound 5 will coexist, serving different needs according to the customer. For me, the original BeoSound 5 is ideal. I like the security and stability of having my music collection on the BeoMaster 5 and

I've read that Apple is planning to license video airplay to third party devices as they currently do with the licensing of audio airplay. While it is not quite the same issue, perhaps this indicates a move away from Apple's resistance toward licensing its technology.

Was wondering if plugging it in to non B&O equipment (such as a non B&O receiver, etc) would work with the remote for that equipment if it wasn't a Beolink or Beo 4.
I think it will work. I've used a B&O IR eye with the Lintronic

It will be great if this same feature is extended to the BeoMaster 5 for existing B&O tvs. It seems possible since the BeoMaster 5 already provides access to the internet. Most blu-ray players already offer great internet content such as Hulu Plus, Netlfix, Amazon Video on Demand, etc. While most of us probably already have these services on our
