  • Re: THE LARS FLYVHOLM INTERVIEW - 2008

Thank you for that, Lee. What are Cat 5 and Cat 6 cables? I am currently refurbishing my home and would like to have futureproof cables installed (instead of old ML cables, as the case may be). Thank you for any advise here. Regards, js

  • Re: Collecting B&O

Apart from eBay, where does one source older items? I am in Belgium and I am not aware of any (local) market for vintage B&O products?

  • Beolab 8000 foam rot?

I was lucky enough that all my cherished, older items (all bought new years ago) were immune to all usual illnesses. But in recent days, a few did eventually default: the glass control panel of a Beocenter 9500 unglued, some pixels of a Beolink 5000 died, and I noticed foam rot in a pair of CX100. I recognise that nothing is eternal, so now I sadly

GuyHui : the BL8000 [...] that have the Ice Power amplification integrated in them I know the MkII version benefits from some bass improvement, but I am not aware of a IcePower version. Could you please confirm? Cheers, js

  • Re: BeoLab 9 - Nice or a ten-pinter?

Really good speakers, but: - the acoustic lens is lower than my sofa, thus the concept would be wasted in my room (the tweeter of my BL8000 is much better positionned); and - in my opinion they look cheap compared to aluminium speakers and I am not sure about the penguin design. • Re: Beosound 3000 reliability

Roger, thanks a lot, this is helpful. I will upgrade to gold if need be. How should I assess e.g. the CD-mode time? I mean, what would be a reasonable "mileage"? A few hundred hours? A few thousand? As from which CD-mode time would one say a unit has been used too much to be considered as a sensible buy for the long term? Cheers, Jean-Sebastien

  • Re: Beosound 3000 reliability

Thanks, Roger. Is there any way to know the "mileage" of a Beosound 3000 (like counter on the Avant, for example)? Cheers, js

  • Beosound 3000 reliability

Dear all, I have seen some second hand Beosound 3000s for sale. One from a dealer (mint, serviced, warranty, but expensive) and a couple from private individuals (also in good shape, apparently). Quite tempting, actually. However, I am hesitating because I am worried about failures: these ones are becoming quite old now (mainly from 2002, that's
