  • Re: Beovision MX 4500 help required

If your MX4500 is capable of processing NTSC signals, you will have an M option after pressing tv-shift-3.eg:B= Pal/secam BG/I.L= Secam L,and M=Ntsc. The original spec allowed for NTSC,but only if some alterations were made.Later sets did incorporate this feature, but if you don't have the M option,I suspect your set will not cope! • Re: old product

In the case of the old Beocentre's say 9000,9500 etc,I think there could be a demand for a replacement cd mechanism,as the unit is still attractive and useful. Of course, any replacement unit would need to communicate with the system microprocessor,so some sort of interface would have to be incorporated. I suspect an understanding of Philips datacomms

  • Re: Beomaster 6000 terminal....

If you tip the unit upwards from the front, the remote control module simply unclips. You can see then if the board is fitted, without having to dismantle the unit further.Quite unusual not to have the board though? Regards, Nick

  • Re: Beomaster 7000 suddenly dead

It's quite common for the main fuse to blow due to a failed main rectifier diode in this model. It's not a big deal to sort out,and a B&O tech will be familiar with it. Your links may not be working via the BM5500,because the MCL plus are not connected correctly ie left and right. We've all done this at sometime!! Regards, Nick

  • Re: £500 for an LE6000 ??!!

A rather unoriginal marketing ploy, copied from Bose! Dealers are obliged to dispose of your old tv by law since last year anyway, they all get sent to China to be turned into i.pods!(the telly's that is,not the Dealers!) Of course it's more dignified than giving a discount off the new set, which would set a precident!!

  • Re: Beocord 5000

It's usually the capstan drive belt that causes the trouble. The safety resistor is on the pcb assembly at the rear of the machine, which is the power supply. If the resistor has failed,it will look black, and there will be a scent of burnt carbon.
