  • Bi-amping (sorta)?

I picked up some vintage Magnepans the other day real cheap! I see on the back of them you can bi amp them. I've never had speakers you can bi amp. My question is...can I use the two sets of speaker outputs on my B&O receivers? Hooking speaker 1 with the right output of speakers 1 and 2 on the back of the beomaster, and the same for the other

Well, the fade/mask thing is not colourfull at all. When I have the tv set to receive a dvd (S-video), but have not yet turned on the video, it is clearly seen on the left side of the screen.. It runs vertically and is very linear, perhaps 1.5" wide. It is always there no matter whether I'm using TV, VCR, DVD. When it is receiving pictures

Thanks! I guess that makes sense why it was helping to cycle the tv on and off! Now to find someone around here that will do it for me. Most local repair shops are pretty limited in what they do (I think I've heard of them refered to as "board switchers", a perfect description!). Guy

  • mx5000 north american picture tube question

I had set up a Magnepan (magnet from top to bottom, didn't know!) speaker beside (10") my tv for about a month. I noticed a vertical fade mark on the screen. It does not matter whether I'm watching tv, vcr, dvd...even a blank raster (set for dvd, but haven't turned on the dvd yet) it is always there now. Speaker has been moved now for

  • DVD 1 to MX 5000?

If I purchase a DVD 1, can I hook it up to my MX 5000, like my old Beocord VX 5000? I think the VX 5000 receives it's control commands through the TV with my Beolink 1000. Will the DVD 1 receive controls in the same fashion? Does it have a scart connector? Guy

  • Soundsmith cartridge!

Well, I broke down and bought the entry level cartridge from Soundsmith. After I leveled the turntable, and set the tracking force with a scale, I sat down and put on Sade, Diamond Life. I have to say the sound was startling! I never knew my BG 3000 had it in it! Absoulutly fantastic sound! Guy
