The whole setup including the passive speakers are run by the amp of the BC. That is why it is important to have speakers with a high enough impedance in your setup (like B&O spkrs ). If you think your run out of power then you need to turn to active speakers or MCL2AV and MLC2P. Remember to check that the power limitation wheel in he MCL2A is adjusted

bang1: No it's not compatible, nothing to do with the remote. The HDR require two-way datalink on the av, is only on newer TV's Are you sure about this? In my parents' setup a non B&O STB is connected to an LX4500 and if you do not power up and down the setup in correct order the LX freezes. In my opinion (not knowledge) this has something

MCL 2-series. Passive speakers with a MCL2A (or MCL2 series Xtra Speaker Kit)and active speakers with MCL2AV (MCL 2series Xtra Active Speaker Kit). To the latter you can connect speakers with powerlink connection which BC9000 does not support directly. MCL 2 series Xtra TV-Kit does not include IR-transceiver.

Congratulations, I also remember both the feeling when I could not afford to purchase any B&O and when I finally had enough of courage (not money) to buy the first set (BC 9000, BG 9000 and Beovox 3000's) in 1988, all of the running like new. I am anxiously waiting for DVD 2, running out of patience...

You can adjust the level independently up to certain dB limit. You need to replace the basic MCL2A with a MCL2AV to which you connect a MCL2P (amplifier) by using a fully connected Powerlink cable. The MCL2AV requires DC power. You can power it with from the MCL2P or with a 15V DC power adaptor.

You can deselect autoformat but this does not change the situation . According to my knowledge this is a feature, you can not change it. Hopefully enough people report this to B&O to get a sw fix.

Alex: Forgot to say what it does! Choosing the correct speakers in the setup menu basically tells the surround sound decoder where to send the bass, and also protects the speakers by attempting not to send sounds to the speakers which might send them into protection (although this is very very hard to do). Using the BeoLab 5 setting with BeoLab 9s will

chrisped: Yes - would be good to add some structure to it - either in form of a FAQ or perhaps a BeoSystem 3 Forum. I use my BeoSystem 3 with a non-b&o plasma 42" Panasonic - but all my signals looks worse with my BeoSystem 3 than without. I know I dont have the "correct" non-b&o plasma to get the best out of the BeoSystem 3.

kawo: Hi All, I think we have more and more proud owners of a Beosystem 3 within Beoworld. As this device is a "monster" in functionality and configuration, quite often some help from others could be very helpful. My suggestion is to get all information and expirience in one thread as now all information is spread over different places. Karsten

I have had both in a similar sized room. Both are lacking bass, so you need to add a Cona or use Vox 5000's instead of the 3000's (the latter was my solution). If you have to select between those I would go to the 3000's. The sound is slightly deeper (depending on the wall materiel) and esthetics speak for panels as well. This is a matter
