Seems like the time to get even... I have an original SM on paper but not scanned (yet). Now that's the perfect time to start with... Gunther Thanks for the laser tip. Still very far from getting a BC9500 as they are either expensive or mechanically spoiled
WayHay!!! What a way to start the day! Thank you Prize Draw Bot, Beoworld, Lee, everyone at Lifestyle and all my friends on this wonderful site.
Yeah, keep rubbin' it in...

Hello Menahem, Is it on both channels? I would suspect the 54IC3 / TC9177 as a source. It's located after the input source switch. Probably hard to get - I never ran across that one. Internet tells it's a Toshiba. Looks like a digitally controlled pot only. Eventually 54IC1 (right) or IC2 (left)/ 4558 that's actually creating the attentuation
OH OH expensive 3000 caps
Probably not expensive but surely in a strange dimension - most of the available ones are much wider in diameter But lookin' at Menahem's BM3400 there's a very slim nichicon 1000/50 so I'm sure he'll find suitable substitutes. Gunther

good gracious... that's a box full of electrolytics spreaded all over

Hi Todd, Be careful with the 5500 system as IIRC that one hasn't the power link connectors used by more recent B&O active speakers. Otherwise while using passive speakers there's no problem with a 5500 - have one myself. Power link starts with the 6500 system and of course the 7000 has them, too Gunther P.S. Before I forget to mention -

Hello Menahem, helpful as ever PM sent. hope it gets through as I've had problems with the IE before. Firefox seems to work though. Thanks alot, Gunther P.S. Fourth channel working, comparing with the other three worked out fine. Used the TIP120/125. And there has been another one in this machine before for sure - a lot of transistors in the pre
A pic or 2 will do
If there's nothing more.... You can see the 141/146 to the left, in the middle the removed fried ones (120/125), to the right the 120/125 pair that's still ok. Now not knowing if I should use the 120'/125 or the 141/146. Probably both will do (and I have more 120/125

This is not going to be a repair guide - can't compete with Soren / Rich / Ev / Martin / Bogener's etc. But reading the operating manual gave back life to the rear channels immediately ... by pressing "Stereo" - how about RTFM Gunther

Mika, thanks for the thought. Had a look myself already but it seems to be different as far as I can see up to now. The BM2000 has the TIP141/146 combo - and there are 2 versions of the power amplifier This BM3400 was dead as could be with both primary fuses blown. Meanwhile I have it running with all the bulbs refitted as it showed no sign of life
