• Re: Beosound 5 Encore.... not until after summer !
I didn't know there were different AAC formats.... I feel like this might get confusing! Which of those (or which other one) does Apple use? That's all I'm worried about!
There are different AAC parameters (bitrate, fixed vs variable), just like there are different mp3 parameters. BS5 has supported unprotected

  • Re: Wireless
OK, so I'm not the only one. Been very disappointed in the wireless. Have used a pair in two different 1-bedroom apartments in two different countries and they consistently sucked in both cases. The signal would come in and out, causing my Beo4000s to click on and off repeatedly. But then sometimes it worked fine

  • Re: Sorry to disappoint but B&O may have best tech but do have the worlds worst people talk, listen designed telephones.

I think it's unfair to judge an entire company by one product... especially a novelty item like the Beocom2. I believe the consensus that I've read on this site is that Beocom 2 is hard to use, and some find it gorgeous, while others take a pass. My dealer talked my wife out of it when she showed interest - he said "these come back because
I have been informed that to use the BS5 as Audio Master NO you must you an active kit in the same room. I.E. I want the BS5 in a link room with speakers connected to it. The main room has a BS9k and a BV9 (the audio and video masters) So, apparently I must use an active kit on the ML network in the link room with the
I am planning on using the Beosound 5 just for music. Actually was planning on calling dealer today to see if I need to have it connected to the TV for set up or any other purpose if all I want to do is use the Beosound 5 for music.
You need not connect your BS5 to a TV. The one issue that I have with this setup

    Sorry duplicate post...

IMHO, the real question is whether "small" and "doesn't look like a speaker" are high on your list of requirements. If they are, then they fit the bill completely. My wife didn't want "speakers" in our bedroom (even BL6000/BL4000). I didn't like the sound of the BL4 in the store, but decided I'd give them

  • Re: BeoSound 5 Cover Art Issue

Not sure of your cover art issue, but as far as connecting... If you're on windows, just start up BeoPlayer, and it will connect and this will mount the BM5 to your computer. You should see a "share" pointing to it in Windows Explorer For Mac (thanks to Carolpa): start BeoConnect and make a connection with the BS5/BM5. go to Finder make

  • Re: Beosound 5 verses Beosound 9000

I own both, and I barely use my BS9000 anymore. On the other hand, iMac + BeoPort does do some things better than the BS5 - like displaying the song title / playlist name / etc. on BeoSound displays - I don't think this works with BeoVisions so maybe you would not miss this much - and iPhone remote control. Also, the BS5 works best with Windows

  • Re: Which TV should I buy?
At the end of the day its a £700 Samsung screen with B&O speakers and nice plastic.
You know, I used to think this, too... and I thought those that argued otherwise were deluded... drinking too much B&O kool-aid. Then I bought a BV8-40 (primarily for the integration with all my other B&O
