I seem to remember a thread on this, but can't seem to find it (maybe lost on the old forum) Has anyone done this and can they give me some idiot proof guidance of how to do it in terms of cleaning, prep, what type of paint, lacquer etc. I want to acheive as close as possible to the original B&O black. Currently they're the most disgustiing

I'll ask my dealer! I'll get back to you soon! Does it have it's 2 screws that attached the motor to the mounting plate? Cheers Nigel

I know exactly what you mean mika - every time I put the tape on, I wonder if it's the right thing to do! I guess my faith in human nature persuades me that for every idiot who works for a courier, there will be lots of sensible employees that will take note.... So far it doesn't seem to have done any harm! Regarding taking the platter off

Great pics! I'm always very nervous about taking the MMC out due to the risk of it's pins becoming loose/ detached. I'll try and take a photo today of the way I deal with the arm. Cheers Nigel

Many thanks Olly Absolutely clear now! When I first posted I didn't realise my top glass panel was also loose! having lifted that one out I can see the screw in it, so it won't be difficult getting a replacement - also didn't realise it was inserted from underneath! (told you I was DIY inept!!) It does seem very odd that someone should butcher

Will be interesting to compare notes Martin! However, I suspect your packaging will put mine to shame having read your feedback! That looked like a very nice BG6500! Cheers Nigel

Good Question Leslie! I've sold a lot of these on ebay (and touch wood) they've all arrived safely... I actually leave the platter in place... . I pack the space between the platter and the lid with what I think is polyethylene - it's like squidgy polystyrene and easily cut to shape and size. (My source up to now has been my IT department

Hi Olly Many thanks for your detailed reply. I told you it needed to be idiot proof and you've just about succeeded - however I have a couple of questions... I understand completely about the positioning of the plastic spacers. Do you glue these onto the beocenter itself? - I can't see any evidence (no glue or tape residue) of how they were

Hi Can anyone point me to a previous thread or give me idiot proof instuctions on ( I am completely DIY inept, but think I should just about be able to manage this given some clear direction! ) a) what to clean the old glue off with, without damaging the markings on the glass panels. b) once cleaned off is it best to use double sided tape or glue, and

Bit of a long shot, I know, but if you don't ask......... Cheers Nigel
