The Beomaster 8000 differed from earlier Beomasters in that it used line level for the tape player. Earlier receivers like the 2400 used the DIN standard. The Beocord was made so it would work with either type.

I would suggest getting the 9500. The 9000 has some issues with the CD clamper and is generally less reliable. Obviously the 9500 is getting old, but the laser seems pretty sturdy and belts for the tape deck are available. You will need it servicing from time to time and you will need to find someone who is willing to take time and not just yell you

Quite correct - doesn't work for the MMC20 cartridges. You will have to test the continuity using a meter.

The BV3-28 is based on the MX. It has two full range speakers, one for each channel - frequency response 85 - 20,000Hz - max level 94dB . The 3-32 has tweeters and woofers for each channel - frequency response 55-20,000 Hz - max level 96dB (remember the dB scale is logarithmic - 2 is a lot!) . The 3-32 essentially has active speakers and can be compared
