it's Samsung's fault for making poor quality displays in the first place , not bno's. They can only work with what they're given. Maybe they should have stayed with plasma a bit longer so as to differentiate themselves and keep the quality up as LCD seems a very under developed technology.

Hopefully they'll get their act together in the next year or so. The Intel thing looks promising.

I can highly recommend anything by Elgato I recently bought their eyetv freesat hd box from amazon for £130 , it works brilliantly. Just connect up to a mac mini then to your tv and you can stream recordings and live tv all round the house , even in hd , to ipads , iphone and apple tv's. I've got an appletv mk2 connected to a 100"

I always loved the classic Jensen designs , the hidden from view under a lid , but if you wanted to get technical it was there. Now there's nothing hidden from view as there's nothing to hide ! I've long maintained that bno need not only a new direction but a new main designer , Lewis has become stale and boring he's also anti-computers

Perhaps the forum is simply mirroring people's disenchantment with bno ? Ever thought that ?? Times have moved on , but they haven't . I've been a poster here since 2003 in the old old days and you still hear the same things from people and bno just DON'T LISTEN , they're arrogant beyond belief for such an infinitesimal market share

I'm in a similar situation , just can't believe there's no alternative to the avant anymore , an all in one super tv at a sensible price. The 7/40 with NO speaker is £6,000 !!?? The avant was c £5k when I bought it but it had everything including the kitchen sink built in.

Av forums is a notorious breeding ground for morons , and that's just the mods . They prattle all day on about the cost of everything forgetting that real value comes from something else apart from the price tag. Loewe are hardly worth talking about , mediocre wannabee's at best , laughable copycats at worst.

I thought the whole point of the bv7 was the sysytem integration and the built in dvd / blu ray. Why on earth bno keeep putting el cheapo drives in their tv's is beyond me. Defeats the purpose entirely doesn't it if you have to add a 3rd party drive just to get half decent performance? It's not like the 7/55 is exactly cheap !

I'd agree but having 2 spare hdmi's on a tv is just plain stupid. All tv's these days have at least 4 available , the rest of the specs don't really matter too much. Connecting stuff up easily does though. Especially now with the dawn of the internet integration age. ; apple tv , mac mini etc etc This is where B&O fall down.

Fair enough. I guess in the long run B&O's quality will shine through. Plus the design of the samsung's is pretty horrid.
