Cheers - this is quality! Saw them on their comeback tour last Nov. They've tightened up since then :)

I think we get freedom to express ourselves verbally by posting on the forum, whereas ranking all posts as one star could be perceived to be a bit of a sly dig, without exposing one's self to any questioning from other forum members. If it causes some tension, why not temporarily suspend the ranking system and see how we get on without it? As for

I had a similar problem with mine a few months ago. Light lubrication of the moving parts of the tray mechanism, as well as adjusting one (can't remember which) of the tiny switches that tell the CD player that a CD is loaded and the tray is closed (might have been the switch that is closed by the big cam when the tray is shut) did the job for me

Hi Craig You got another 6000 Quad with dodgy lamps and tone controls!? I spoke to Martin (Dillen) about this and he has these bulbs available. I'm sure he'll be along to offer you some expert advice.

I might be wrong, but I think the AC motor version has a similar motor to the original Beogram 4000 - a very well built and engineered unit. The DC version came along later when the accountants got to work on the design spec!

burantek: Peter : Beomaster 4400 - my favourite and a superb design again. Actually very similar in electronic design to the later 80s 6000 which John likes. Beomaster 2200 - completely forgotten receiver and built in most novel way - far more like a TV set than a receiver, with discrete modules. Superb sound and very powerful. Good looks and very cheap
