  • Re: 1202 Newbie

Hi Lee, I have a 1203. These turntables/ cartridges produce an output that has to be amplified in a special non-linear way that takes account of the different ways that bass and treble are pressed into the vinyl records. The receivers and amplifiers produced at the same time as your turntable usually had separate turntable inputs to a matched pre-amp

  • Re: To you all. Visit the questionnaire now on www.bang-olufsen.com

I agree with Puncher on this one. Not sure I'd want an internet/DAB focussed system (HiFi????) with video/pictures to the exclusion of CD with FM access etc. Graham

Just thought I'd better resubmit this comment as it previously got enveloped by some irrelevant off-topic exchanges.[quote user="vikinguk"] As a relatively new subscriber I hesitate to pass comment on this topic, especially as one of my early posts was on pre-owned dealers (in complete ignorance of the role of Lifestyle with the site!

I take the view that carrying B&O advertising would indirectly sharpen-up B&O output as they would know that they would suffer disproportionately

  • Re: Serene one of "Dirty Dozen ugliest and lamest cellphones" by PC World magazine Google translation

I am still using mine and find it OK as a phone and very good for sending texts once you get the hang of the circular layout and avoid touching the wheel which will send the cursor to somewhere other than where you want to type. As remarked above, the camera is actually very easy to use if used in vertical format (i.e you look down onto the screen whilst

  • Re: SP10 Cartridge in 1203 Beogram

Thanks Frede. My memory is obviously way-out on purchase dates! So it looks as if I was given an upgrade on the standard SP14A! Is the SP10 superior to the SP12? Graham

  • SP10 Cartridge in 1203 Beogram

I had thought that I bought my 1203 Beogram turntable in 1971 but find on the main site that they were only manufactured from 1974(!) It still has the original cartridge which I removed for inspection today and was suprised to find that it is an SP10. References on the mainsite suggest that the standard cartridge for this turntable would have been the

  • Re: My beovision just skipped an important step when i switched it off!

Hi Nikola, No BC1 does not have electronic curtain. Picture goes off and sound rapidly diminishes afterwards.(I have just acquired BC1). The Avant does. When the screen comes on the picture appears in the centre as a thin vertical line and then opens out to the wide screen. The sound gently comes on (and gently goes down as the curtains close when switching

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen for the ignorant or for the connoisseur?

Interesting views from TripEnglish! I noticed on a visit to RicherSounds that they are now offering house networked systems but at a phenomenal price relative to their cut-price end-of-range TVs and Hi Fi separates. On the question of David Lewis and designs mentioned by Flappo, my own view is that the CRT televisions were masterpieces of disguise,

  • Re: Remember your first time???

1970. Wandered into the Beaver Radio shop in Whitechapel Liverpool, close to the then Beatles famous NEMS music store and Rushworths Music (all now defunct.) Saw a 1200 tuner/amp. So distinctive with its slide rule appearance. I hovered by it for far too long. Invited into the upstairs listening/ demonstration room I was soon being offered the radio
