As you've probably seen in the other topic I've replaced the caps by Audyn types. The C1 27uF has to be made out of 1 22uF parallel with a 4,7uF one. My suggestion is to replace all the caps on the boards. Maybe you can order them here. http://www.speakerland.nl/content/index.php

A picture mute function isn't available in the avant. An alternative is using AV-TV or AV-Vtape etc. Just add AV to the list in the Beo-4. Using AV-TV from stand-by the avant starts without using the tube. From TV to AV-TV, the avant swithes to a dark screen, which will switch off the tube some minutes later.

Don't you have a cheap DVD player somewhere, which has component connectors? Then the cheapest cable between the player and the BV6 will give you the anwser. I bought a cheap Hiteker DVD player at Blokker.

I think you won't get a better result. Especially if you use 480p. The difference between 576i and 480p will hardly be noticable. Today I attached my daughters Wii to the avant camcorder connnection. At my BV6 there is also on the left backside a panel which covers the camcorder connection. These are just composite (yellow), audio left and right channel (white and red). These are the same as at the back from my Avant. With the standard cable from the Wii it will work. You don't need a special component cable.
