Yes, but let's not confuse him, the cable will also work fine with an iPod, TV or any other source, just leave the ground cable unused.

Plug it in the "AUX", and hook up any other equipment using regular RCA cables which are usually male-male. Therefore easier to get this adapter as a female version.

The Mini is connected directly to the Beolab5's. Toslink -> optical/coaxial adapter -> beolab5.

I haven't had the chance to do a proper "VS" comparison yet. The bass is better controlled IMHO from the Mac mini than from the BS9000, this probably because I'm experiencing less bass from the mini. The sound quality is superb from the Mini, but it's also superb from the BS9000. Initial verdict is that the Mini is as good as the

I'm not sure Beo needs more speakers, they have it pretty covered if you ask me. As Koning said, it would be great with an upgrade to the BL8000 and the BL6000. These are wonderful design-wise and would deserve an upgrade.

I understand what you mean, but what is the need for a Beosound 5 then? It's just a screen with a control wheel. I'm using a Mac mini, happy with it. And it's a tenth of the price of a Beosound 5. Infinite storage, just add a external HD. It upsamples DVD's. It has mail, safari (internet explorer) and all the other bells and whistles

Beolab 9 for sure. A much better solution than BL8000 and BL2. Beolab 9 has gotten very good reviews in the audiophile community. Something the BL8000 never got.
