355f, I think this is a "teachable moment" here. Your response somehow indicates that I'm loopy for wanting an older BeoVision than a newer Pioneer. I absolutely stand by that! There has to be some minimal test performed on each panel which could single out both general faults as well as quality grades in order to funnel them through to the various brands which build off the panels. I use the current dipole antenna for the BeoSound 9000 on my old BeoCenter 9000. It works great. I've found, though, that the only way to improve it dramatically is to add a powered antenna.

Sal, The BeoVision 8 plays nicely with TiVO HD, but some of our clients have had unrelated cable-card issues. If you haven't had these you should be fine. As for the price increase, it doesn't affect the BeoVision 8 that much. Maybe $100 or so at the most.
