moxxey: Razlaw: As for price, subtract the price of a Beosystem 3 from the price of a BV7, then subtract the price of a high quality DVD player I don't go along with that argument. The Beosystem 3 is way overpriced. You can't really just say 'take off the price..' and then it becomes a 'bargain'. What does the Beosystem 3 do

Dave: I have a thing against wires showing too, they really bother me - so i would automatically go for the BV9. I strongly dislike the BV7 in the B&o range. I think technologically & price wise, it's a bit of an embarrassing product. As for technology it is the same processor as the BV9. As for price, subtract the price of a Beosystem 3

Standard definition looks excellent on BV7 in my opinion, as do the blacks. Comparing the two side by side in our dealer we found the blacks and overall picture better on the BV7.

Both have spectacular pictures. We looked at a BV9 720p, BV9 1080p and the BV7-40 MKIII. We chose the 7 as we liked the design better and were not comfortable with viewing the 9 angled. The angle does not bother most people but it did us and having tried to watch the 7 tilted at a similiar angle I am very happy with our decision. The 7 will seem brighter

The sounds definetly did not sound fake and did sound like they were coming from behind me. It just was not very often that I heard additional sounds and they were very subtle.

Alex: Why not try it out? Prop the speakers up where they're going to go, run PowerLink across the floor and see how you think it sounds. I did a slightly abbreviated version of your suggestion. Instead of two speakers in the rear I used just one, set to center rear, a Beolab 6000. When listening to a 7.1 Blu-ray I did seem to hear some subtle sounds

moxxey: No, definitely not (to the 7.1). I've had a 7.1 with my BV7-32 and then BV7-40 for four years, recently with BL9's at the front. I recently replaced the 7.1 with a 7.4 and it makes a massive difference. The alt speaker compliments the BL9's and the sound seems to be distributed more evenly. I've also disconneded the BL2. The

Thanks! Let me rephrase the question to clarify. We also have a Veldyne 12 inch sub connected and I also have a set of 4000s that we are not using. So the issue really is whether the wok of wall mounting the 4000s would be justified by the sound improvement, if any.
-
Mine is about a year old. It is as good as new except for a couple of scratches on the hinge.
-
We have a 7-4 as center, 9s as fronts, 1s as rears. Would there be a noticeable difference/improvement if a pair of 4000s was added for the rear to make it 7.1?, Thanks.
