I'm with you that RGB is the best quality for the avant. Component doesn't work on my avant though. Maybe it differs from type to type. I have a 8450 type, that's the 32" RF DVD version.

PhilLondon: The HDR1 worked with my much older MX7000 so there will be no problem with your BV3. The HDR1 is only incompatible with the AVANT with an integrated V.TAPE. Then you should know that the record record function doesn't work if you combine the HDR1 with the MX7000. It is also stated in the manual, that when you use record record, the HDR1

A have a Topfield 7710 HD PVR. This topfield sends simultaniously HDMI and composite video. If the scart is used (you have to set a switch at the back), the HDMI, won't work.

I don't know which scarts (besides the VTAPE) are used on the back? Did you use, for example, the "Decoder" scart? Then you can use this one with the help from a smal converter (scart to coax). Name the "Decoder" as Vaux or Sat or whatever is available and program the Beo4 with A(V) -Source. So if you use Decoder as a "Sat"

That's the point. By using the camcorder instruction on the Beo4 your screen will go on. The option A-Camcorder isn't available in the Beo4. If you rename the camcorder connection to V-Aux (as mentioned), you can use the A-Vaux instruction on the Beo4. But you have to add the A-Vaux instruction in your Beo4. Only then will the screen stay's

I think the easiest way to attach the ipod is to connect it to the camcorder connection on the back of the avant. Then you only need a cable between the ipod and the avant. Then enter the menu, go to "connections" and press "menu". Now switch to "Camcorder" and press "go". In the next menu "Camcorder"
