Correct me if I'm wrong but SACD support was dropped from PS3's fairly early on (after the 60Gb player I believe) for cost reduction reasons and to boost the sales of PS3. As good as the PS3 is, and as quiet as the newer models are, they no longer support SACD (or PS2 hardware compatiblity, which I believe was dropped at the same time as SACD

Never having owned any of the speakers mentioned my opinion is obviously of limited value, however my tendancy would be to go for the 7.4 if my surrounds were ALT equipped (BL5, BL9, BL3). I may be wrong but having front ALT equipped speakers with a non-ALT centre would be a concern to me (although I would be less worried about the rears).
