Well done ! Did you replace the large cap at the end of the amplifier board ? I like to mount a 6800uF 63V here. Martin

Beovox S40 (and similar S35-2) are some of the best 2-way speakers from B&O. I like their sound a lot and people who listen to them are often surprised to see that they are in fact only 2-way. White Beovox S40 is very rare to see - if original. A lot were painted but the original is thin laminate. The value of the older things, generally, equals

Most likely the transformer itself. Unfortunately, that's very common. The Beomaster will play along nicely, it's just annoying. Martin

The humming could be caused by too high idle currents so the power supply is struggling to keep up. Is it getting hot underneath ? The aluminum panel with the four sliders lifts right off, it will ease access to the tonecontrol board. Martin

It's always a difficult task to settle for a policy when repairing/restoring a set like this. Previous repairers simply replaced the original defective components with what they had available. They put in what was modern components at the time and never thought much about it. I just rebuilt the large filter/reservoir capacitor box, striving for

Everytime the spring slips off, the rounding will be smoother and the problem worse. I seem to remember that it's not very hard to grind it back to

Didn't Peter send you the schematics ? I remember scanning it and he replied to your (first) post. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/p/29509/233473.aspx#233473 Parting out a 608 amplifier would be a shame in my opinion and drastically modifying it would reduce its selling value considerably. It's a quite well respected amplifier and a collectors

No, that's usually the power switch not releasing completely, thereby not allowing other switches to latch in. It will need a good internal cleaning of dust and oxidation to move freely again. Fiddly job but possible. Worn rubber washers will cause slippage within the clutch mechanism. Martin

I found a transformer from a Beocenter 3300. You have a PM ! Martin
