There is probably a loose connection in the DIN plug. There are effectively two earths in the plug - the common ground is pin two but the chassis also earths to the casing of the DIN plug. This sometimes becomes detached.

Depends how technical you are! The 2400 is not the simplest device to disassemble, or more accurately, re-assemble!! I would guess that one side of the power amp needs attention - capacitors a common culprit but clearly all sorts of issues - clearly needs servicing.

Quite right! The 4004 is a lovely deck. I remember getting a shelf for oe of my Beograms from a well known Hi-Fi chain. The salesman there was an older chap and I enquired about listening to some of their better decks. he asked what I had and laughed, and told me not to bother with the ones on display as none in his opinion came close either in sound

Mine is just the same. It is the disadvantage of the MAC based system. It does seem illogical though!

Good buy - probably the value buy of the range. Nice simple deck with less to go wrong than the 4000 or 8000 ranges and has datalink so will work well with the 9500.

I think CX100s would be a perfectly good short term solution - in fact you may well find that they all you need. I will be very interested to hear how your system performs.

Verey atmospheric but it doesn't add anything for me. The frame is actually designed to be unobtrusive, something it manages very well. I would have been more interested in the video technology and the part that B&O play in that.

To be fair, the amplifier in the Beocenter 7000 you have is a really good one. Much better than the 2400 and a match for the 3000/4000 in my view. The BC7000 is sometimes referred to as the poor man's 8000 system (not that poor, mind you!) and I think this is a good description. Most need some work these days but are ridiculously cheap.

Dealing with foreign bodies now? Not a bad translation back and forth though!

Do bear in mind that most need servicing. I have had a few of these and until I had mine restored by Frede, never really understood what they were capable of. I cannot give you before and after figures for my Beolab as it was not fully working when sent as it had been kept in damp conditions by a friend, but my Beomaster 4401 went from have a damping
