That looks fantastic! That burgundy speaker cloth was the ultimate finishing touch. Now all you need to do is slap a burgundy racing stripe on that BeoSound 3000

I've never been inside one of these either! I think if I open it up I will recap, I don't want to have to open it up twice. Now, to find a cassette recorder.... Do I even own one of those?! By the way, that tape idea is a genius idea!

I know the spacers seem like a lot of work, I just happened to have some spare dowell rod in the garage. My stands didn't have the adjustment screws, so it wasn't that obvious.

Good thinking! The unit has never been opened. Its the same as it was when it left the factory back in 197X. I was so proud of it, unserviced and sounding absolutely superb! I will try and get inside tomorrow. What is the best grounding point inside these things?
So the launched product is the Beosound 8. Does it fulfill any of the desires expressed in this thread? (OK, it's not a Beolab 5000 with ICEpower................ ) Graham
Sadly, no.

Here is my solution. This is a side view, it isn't to scale at all so don't be too critical! The spacers are only as long as the width of the top of the stand.

Just to stir the pot... B&o rather quietly trademaked the term "BEOCLASSIC" just a few months ago. No big deal, right? After all, it is just a component of the online "BEOLOUNGE" which was also trademarked by them a few years ago. Well, the "goods and services"

I wish I would have known that! I had a pair of RL 60.2s also. I ended up using some old 1" dowell rod sections as spacers - worked very, very well! I searched them for adjustment but couldn't find any. Also, the stamped piece of the stand seemed to be bent forward.

I gave it some good exercise, no luck. Same low rumble. I turned the unit on in test mode and it was silent. Next idea?

Okay Ill grab a speaker and give it a whirl... one sec!
