  • Re: Prices of used B&O; Ironic?

The Avant is a strange one - as a lot of enthusiasts would rate it as the best television B&O have ever made - and yet it hardly costs anything in relation to what it gives you. IMO, as more and more of them begin to 'disappear' (due to tube failures etc... which is inevitable over time), the second hand price will increase, as often the kind of people

  • Re: BeoCenter 2 and 4 speakers

You can connect 4 speakers into your BC2 - but nonetheless it's something I'd avoid! Using BL4000s along with speakers like the BL1s is effectively 'watering them down'. The BL1s can play at very high volume levels relatively effortlessly and the high end especially sounds very detailed and crisp. The BL4000s are a much softer, warm sound, and won't

  • Re: BS5 Any news???

linder: jk1002: I ish they would do a preview to get me motivated to save for it B&O should preview the Beosound 5, demonstrate its capabilities and do it quickly to generate some excitement. B&O might take a lesson from Apple. The iPhone was shown at Macworld last year a full six months before it was released. I purchased 2 iPhones on the day

  • Re: The dangers of hoarding small things

They usually tend to last quite well if they're looked after well (which usually they aren't), my grandfather's 1974 Rega deck retained the same stylus right up until I replaced it when it was handed down to me a few years ago. It sounded acceptably good at the time...

Puncher: wirralsimon: Alex: Sadly I'm not going to be there Listening to Yes' Relayer on vinyl with a friend at the moment... One of my vary favourite LP's when I was a lot younger! Still sounds good now..... Simon Not for me I'm afraid - it was recorded during one of Rick's many absenses and has that Moraz chap instead Of the three

  • Re: suggestions for center speaker

Sonically, I would recommend a BeoLab 7-1. Softer sound than the other modern B&O speakers such as BL3 etc..., but still very detailed and 'snappy'. Should work beautifully with the Pentas...

  • Re: Internet Radio through my beosound 4

Chris is correct, but they made this legal in the UK a while ago. I remember when I got my iTrip along with my iPod Mini (when they first came out). I had to have it imported from the US as they were illegal in the UK at the time! As far as FM transmitters go - I really wouldn't. The solution offers no control in rooms outside of the one the computer

  • Re: Digital Media solution: player, streamer, media center?

Nonsense! Red wine does nothing other than enhance your understanding of things - I've had many more philosophical debates after wine than I would normally do... RE using component cables - the reason I say to do this is that with HDMI, the DAC being used is the one built in to the BeoVision 8. If you use component cables, you can choose which DAC to
