  • Re: New Bang TV technology

j0hnbarker: TripEnglish: I hear that Bang is also working hard on adding a second name to their company. I hear it will be connected by and ampersand. Genius Bada-bim-bada-bang!

  • Re: Another one leaves the ship !

The Netherlands has over a hundred dealers, I'd say that's probably more than needed. If any are closing it could even be a part of B&O's strategy of ending shop-in-shop to go for exclusively operated B1 stores with B&O only. http://www.beoworld.org/dealer_view.asp?cid=NL I think the dearth of new products is a lot more serious than

  • Re: NEWS: Industry declares 720p better than 1080i

From last year's CES sensation when LG was demonstrating test 1080p broadcasts. Kind of surprising if such broadcasts now are "standard." While we're sure to see plenty of high definition on display at next week's CES, LG is hoping to cause a stir of its own by broadcasting something other than finely tuned HD DVD / Blu-ray loops

Japan is a special case. They're already looking into 8K Super Hi Vision, which has sixteen times the resolution of Full-HD ... And the Japanese are serious about optical cable - which is a gamechanger as far as transmission bandwidth is concerned. Regular broadcasts "over the air" do not take place in 1080p, unless as stand-alone test

Spent some time comparing 720p and 1080i on my Kuro, from various sources. From my AppleTV I prefer the 720p, as decided by my eyes -- the image seems more stable/right. 1080p will never have the requisite bandwidth available for broadcast, and will be reserved for optical and harddisk storage media, as well as for pre-ordered downloads. Today, with

Keeping things in perspective, and reading from a few of the reports in the Danish press. The temporary CEO was an interim post. He'll be staying until the 30th of September, the new CEO is ready to be announced by the end of the month and a good transition's been promised by the Chairman of the Board. The person filling the post as temporary

  • Re: New touchless remote made to B&O, very nice...

Let's hope it is rechargeable. Sorry to be boring here, but I would love to see a two-way touch screen, and with the stability issues of the remote that's going to be tricky, since much of the point here is to keep it undulating on the surface it's placed on. I don't find that it meets the Occam's Razor test of less is more - but

  • Re: Today's Luxury Institute Video Brands Report

You'll see that the 3 top ranked brands are B&O, Nakamichi and SONY. The rest of the press release states, in alphabetical order, which other brands were mentioned by the quite large panel of luxury consumers that the institute queries. I can assure you that they themselves are aware that the compendium of brands is controversial, but then most

  • Today's Luxury Institute Video Brands Report

If audio had commenters here in confusion, then the video brands ranking shouldn't provide less fodder for curious minds. http://www.luxuryinstitute.com/doclib/doclib.cgi/0/0/2008 (at top of page - click article to activate link for download of document.) • Re: Luxury institute rank B&O

TerryM: As for your final comment, awareness of a product does not equate to availability. Which again misses the point. Awareness is an indicator of prestige, even if unavailable. I can be aware of El Bulli, Perigord truffles and Montenegrian black ham - in spite of neither being available on the South Sea island I'm on. And if queried by a study
