The answer is really subjective - have you had a look at the various Beograms listed on the products pages, and if so, do you have a preference looks-wise? The Beogram 4000 is easily the best built of the lot, and the 4002/4004/6000 derivatives are not far behind in terms of build quality. A 6000 would be a good find as it has a built in RIAA pre-amplifier

Beogram 8002 has made me invest in my vinyl collection. Just having a first listen to Paul Weller's Catch Flame live LP from Alexandra Palace - now playing 'Blink and You'll Miss It'. Sounds good ;)

Got to agree with Chris about the Pentas and MC120.2s - I own pairs of both and they are really great sounding when connected to a good amp. B&O produced plenty of these!

All the parts of my collection are mint or nearly mint, and therein lies the problem. If you are into B&O you probably have an eye for detail and would want your 40 year old Beolit to look like new. Unfortunately there are few of these around, so you have to be patient: keep an eye open for something you want; be prepared to take a punt on something

h1npw: Hi Penelope Welcome to Beoworld! Yes, your Beogram is certainly worth something! Re the value, condition is everything and the condition of the stylus is also important. One sold on ebay recently for £155 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180274856332&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008 Cheers Nigel That's

I bought my first piece of B&O back in 2004, and I've now got quite a collection going. I'd like to think of myself as a collector who wants to have a collection where every piece is usable, therefore I set about replacing every piece of AV equipment in my house with B&O stuff, and added a few portable radios in the mix to boot. I bought a second hand 2003 RF Avant from an eBay auction run here in the UK by a B&O dealer, and got a 6 month warranty on the set. I have no complaints - I guess the experience will vary between dealers/regions/countries/continents??

Got Radiohead's Amnesiac on 10 inch vinyl when it came out. Just listening to 'I Might Be Wrong' on the Beogram 8002. I REALLY like this deck!

I've had good and bad experiences: Bad: MMC2 sent with a Beogram 8002 in original B&O packaging box from Leeds to Nottingham. Result = MMC2 was toast. Good: Immacualte Beovox Pentas sent in original B&O packaging box from Sweden to Sheffield. Result = not a mark on them, though strangely they arrived a day apart from each other!

Interesting choice! Me and Friedmett both have these systems, so he might want to add something here too. I have a full Beosystem 6000 playing through some Beovox MC120.2 speakers in one of my spare bedrooms. I was tremendously lucky to be given the system for free, and though the Beogram 8002 and Beocord 8004 needed/need attention respectively, I have
