I found the BL3s sound *slightly* better from above - on around a 5-10º angle, so you're probably better pointing them very slightly below the listening spot.

The PowerLink cables aren't 'cheap' - they're good quality, but a good or bad cable will really offer no difference in sound quality at a line level (with the exception of the quality of the shielding used - which is good in PowerLink).

Additionally, when you rotate the wheel, there is a ‘laser’ light that is moving - toward the song - and if I’m not wrong the color is red! You may feel differently, but I feel a BeoCenter 6-26 + MCL/ML converter would do the right job for you. Connect the Mac to this, along with the 9500 and 4500s and you'll have yourself a very nice system the capability of going up to surround sound (the BC6-26 supports this). You can then wire ML through to the second room, and use a BeoLink Passive

Wireless networking isn't reliable enough to rely on it for really high bandwidth stuff - especially when used over long distances. I've wired my AppleTV in via Cat6e and it's a vast improvement over connecting to the wireless hub, which is actually in the same room. My laptop (where the content is streamed from) is sitting on my desk at the other end
