Recently I aquired a Beocord 8000. When I tried to play a tape the would moved then drop back. Found out the belts had stretched. Just fitted a new set and replaced the small glass 250ma fuse on the main PCB. Now I have another problem. When I press play nothing happens, unless I hold the cassette tape down slightly. It is as if it is sitting too high

Thanks Jason. When I get them back I will pop them to you in person and take a look at the showroom. Something I have been promising to do for the last 12 months or so. Craig

Jason, do you have two transport screw for a CDX then? Just listed one on Ebay and the original ones are not in place. Craig

Great idea Lee, why not just use part of a tape measure. This way anybody anywhere can see the size of the mark. Sort of like those L shaped ones they use at crime scenes. CSI fans wil know what I mean Craig

Ok well I have sorted out the problem with the head. Chris(Medogsfat) supplied with one had. Now I have noticed that the cassette rewinds when I try to fast forward. It rewinds ok whn I press rewind though. As far as I can tell I have the belts on correctly. This is the ast problem I need to sort out. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Craig
