• Re: Dirigent 610K

All right, despite the best efforts of our strike-ridden postal service I finally got my new valves. I tried two measured good ECC85's in the front end, with practically no change - a couple of stations are heard on top of each other everywhere, with the tuning knob having very little effect. AFC on/off doesn't change anything either. Should

  • Re: Red Line speakers 60.2 and stands do not seem to match

The single pole stands are a later model, introduced at the same time as the updated RL<lots of digits> series I believe. They are still fully interchangeable as long as the mounting plate is the same size (RL140/7000 use the bigger plate, the others the smaller one).
These stands were not designed upto B&O standards in my opinion - a built-in device incorporated into the stands to allow the speaker angle to be user-selected should have been the standard - from a brand such as B&O.
They had one. It's not B&O's fault that people lose them. There's

  • Re: Beovision MX2000 remote control

The only remote that works is the old Video Terminal ("Mars bar"). If your source has a SCART, just use a fully connected cable and you're done. The MX2000 honors the SCART control signal (pin 8) and will switch to the AV input automatically regardless of what program it was on before. Alternatively, switch it to program number 0. I don't

  • Re: BeoSound 8

It's a published product, so it's all on the official site now. http://www.bang-olufsen.com/specifications?productid=941 It is actually quite big - the width approaches that of the '70s Beomaster 2000 and the Beocenter 9xxx series, for example.

  • Re: The BeoSound 8 - Live Review!!!
WOW...we allready had a BS8 at work :-)
Looking back at the real BS8, I'm slightly annoyed at the support thingy on the top, which doesn't seem to be detachable. Sure the unit is a dock, and it won't show when used as such - but I have a feeling that these will be still around and in other use for

  • Re: The BeoSound 8 - Live Review!!!

Dunno if a remote in that shape is any good in practice, but a great idea designwise I can see most other manufacturers using those awful credit card size thingies with foil buttons and useless range...

  • Re: Beogram 4002 Control Panel Finish

My 6000 is like that as well - "start" and "stop" have been slightly polished, but it doesn't seem to have any kind of coating. On my 4004, the worn spot on "start" has rough edges and is different colour (the untouched areas are a bit more yellowish) so something has definitely come off. I suspect there have been several

  • Re: Beosound 8: Let´s talk about AIRPLAY!

Seems like the biggest shortcoming of the long awaited B&O iPod dock is that it is an iPod dock.
