  • Re: Another one to add to the collection?

The brushed panels for the 9000 are different, no longer available and anyway they will not fit any of the other varients because the Cd clamper mech is unique to the 9000 The polished and matt panels are available but I don't know about the grey painted ones. The polished and matt are available as complete sets of three only. You cannot buy just

The doors and centre panel are available as a complete set only, either matt or polished. Easy to replace without disturbing the stringing if you are careful. Matt panels are more expensive than polished but are much harder wearing. They are interchangeable. Takes me about 20 mins but I have done it in excess of 50 times!

  • Re: Beogram TX 2

Received MMC2 and MMC4 back from Axel today. MMC4 playing Brothers In Arms in a BG6500 as I type this. Most impressive so far and Axel's service is second to none! I asked for the two cartridges to be repaired to as near as possible to the original spec. The MMC4 has new suspension, new aluminium cantilever and new elliptical diamond. Sounds fine

  • Re: On-Line Pre-Owned B&O Dealers

You got me bang to rights guv'. It was me that done it, or didn't in this case! I can only apologise and explain the circumstances. As you probably know, if you ask a question on eBay, a copy of that question is sent to the eBay account holders designated email account. I monitor the Beo4life email account during the day and questions should

  • Re: How many folk are still missing the formatting options when composing posts?

[quote user="Puncher"] When I compose a post (using IE7 & now IE8) a lot of the text formatting options are missing from the top of the posting window. These can be recovered if I briefly flip to one of the other tabs ("Options", "Video" etc.) and back. I understand this is some sort of caching issue and it isn't

  • Re: Beogram TX 2

The SMMC4 from Sound-smith is somewhat smoother than the original B&O manufactured units and they still charge $149 plus delivery and taxes. In the UK my last SMMC4's cost me £160 each with delivery and import duty and the p1ss poor exchange rate (about 3 months ago) and I bought 4. Re-tipping is considerably cheaper but at the time of

  • Re: Beogram TX 2

The TX2 is a tangential model and so has no antiskating adjustments, leave the two plastic screws alone! The MMC1 cartridge will cost a fortune ($600+) to replace with an equivalent, so look after it. The quoted tracking weight is a very light 1.0 gm. This is adjusted using a sliding weight located under the tonearm and with a calibration scale on the

  • Re: What Recession?...

[quote user="9 LEE"] Welcome to the magical, mystical world of BeoGram 7000 valuation! A good deck, but worth what they fetch? No way... Get a Beogram 4000 if you want engineering excellence. If anyone is wondering what the allure is for the 7000 - it's purely the fact it was the last and therefore newest Tangential deck made by B&O
