Greg, welcome to Beoworld ! There are two versions of the Beogram 2400, one has a sloping front, the other is vertical. Which one do you have ? We like photos ... I'm in Denmark and have repaired from all over the world but depending on your location, there may be a tech Beoworld'er or some other repairer near you. Martin

Most likely a small signal transistor somewhere, maybe in the amplifier stage, maybe earlier. You will have to put a signal generator to the tape input (if it also distorts from tape) and a scope to the signal path and see where the signal gets distorted. Martin

It could be a capacitor problem but it could also be something else. Is it drastically distorted or "only just" ? Is the "Clipping" light flashing ? Have you tried swapping speakers to rule out that the fault lies in one of them ? Martin

I don't have that belt but is the belt also falling off when the platter is mounted ? Martin

Most components can be reached with a little help from suitable tools and/or lifting just a corner of the board away from the chassis. The lamps are accessed from above, though dismounting the front panel is done from below... A lamp kit is available, containing a full set of fresh

Jeffrey, welcome to Beoworld ! Sounds like the only belt in this machine is actually doing fine. That's the one used for driving the lid. Your Beogram CD X will most likely suffer from cracked solder joints and aging capacitors. All CD X machines do if not already taken care of. The solder joints in question are primarily the ones on the power supply

I never saw an antenna holder on a BM8000 but I do have the odd part lying around. If someone could provide a photo, I will take a look in the dungeons. Martin
