• Re: Software Version on BV 7-40 Mk III
I have just checked mine and noticed that I have 03.50a! It has never been updated since purchase. Should I get it done? There are some horrible thick dark blue vertical lines that appear on the left and the right hand side of the screen when watching certain Sky channels such as Bravo, Living, Virgin and UK Gold

  • Re: BV7-40 MKIV specs?
I will gracefully withdraw from the thread now as I seem to have caused upset.
You haven't caused upset at all :) It's very difficult to 'upset' me. However, we've got to understand that the way B&O operate - and have always operated - is that they seem to use older 'tried and tested'

Simon, I noticed you didn't bother replying to my PM about upgrading. I think what you're saying is false economy, unless you're planning on keeping your TV long-term. We bought our panel for £5600. If we can get £3000 for it over one and a half years later, where's the 'too much of a loss' that you describe? What
However I would be less inclined to spend my money if I thought they had to use "last years " panel..
Are you trying to wind me up Puncher? The MKIII is as good as I've seen around. I'm happy with the TV. However, there's the option to upgrade to the upgraded MKIV for a reasonable price

Puncher, I wouldn't get your hopes up re. LED backlighting on the BV7-40. B&O have a history of using older 'tried and tested' Samsung panels and I'd guess the design of the backlit panel may not lend itself to the existing BV7-40 case. They've only *just* implemented 100Hz, when they were already in rival TVs when the MKIII
OK, Didn't mean to offend and I understood all that having read the thread.
No worries. No-one knows the exact specs, but as you know it will have an updated panel, with a 100Hz screen, a Blu-ray internal drive and perhaps a BS3 with updated sound board. As I said above, as the TV will rise by 10% from today
Thanks Stefan and Moxxey. I have 5.04 on my TV. What are the differences between mine and the latest 5.08 not that i need it.
I don't know (although someone should have that info). Before 5.08, I had 5.00 installed and had problems with Sky HD with a link room TV. I think 5.04 fixed that though.

Go to the service menu -> Monitor Information -> AP SW05.08a (I didn't realise I had 5.08!) BTW, please don't worry about sw updates unless you're experiencing problems with your BV7. From my experience they cause more hassle and your dealer probably won't update it for free anyhow, just for the sake of a minor sw update.

  • Re: BV7-40 MKIV specs?
Are you really saying "let's wait and see" when you've ordered the MKIV?
I think you misunderstand the discussion. I mean 'let's wait and see if it has LED backlighting or whether B&O would be stupid to launch that feature with their mid-range LCD TV first'. It's not the

  • Re: advise needed beolab 5

Yeah, there's no way you really need a BL2 with the BL5s! Indeed, it's superfluous with the BL9s, I found.
