Maybe Ive owes Jensen and Lewis a pretty big bar bill when they meet in a pub.
Well, he's already acknowledged his debt to Dieter Rams - perhaps he should take them all out to dinner! Cleve
What I really like below is the continuity between all the three separate items, with all of them having the stainless trim and the CDX2 and the 5000 pieces sharing the red/green lighting. Apologies for the shot below as it is only me testing in my living room, not a permanent way of setting this up!
John
I was just thinking that I'd like to have some RL140s and MS150.2s to listen to as well - this would complete the big 80s passive speaker line up. I think I'd be in trouble if I tried to bring any more speakers into the house though!
John, I can't believe this of Fliss! Just a thought - have you
Hi I heard that there is someone called Axle or something like that, that can recondition B&O Cartridges and that this is cheaper than soundsmith - does anyone have contact details and prices or website details?
His name is Axel, and he provides a really good re-tipping service as long as the cantilever isn't
They are cushioned rubber cylinders - As you know, the transformer on that 4400 has a slight hum and this was amplified by the wooden surface. The cylinders reduced it. Four half squash balls do much the same!
Thanks Peter, now I have a use for all those small rubber things I have hanging around since I gave

Found a pair of S120.2 with stands for £150, new grills, is that the right sort of money?
I would happily pay that for a pair which don't need any remedial work and are in good condition. Do you mean they have new grills (frets) or they have been refoamed? I would

Peter, Looking at the photograph of the 4400, it looks as if it is resting on doughnut rings! What are they and were they to minimise hum in some way? Cleve

I would agree with John - having heard his! Unfortunately they are very rare in the UK, almost invariably suffer from foam rot and never include the appropriate stands. I've been looking for a pair for what seems like an age, and am tempted by the ones on German Ebay myself. However, I would really want to inspect and listen, so I will probably
