As far as I know, there's no difference between them. The main difference between the 6500 and the 7000 systems is that the 7000 receiver has RDS -and the Beocord tape-deck was fitted with a cheaper tape mechanism (I think it's the same as in the BS Ouverture).

Yes - I might be a tad "biased" - but I can't help thinking why B&O survived, while hundreds of other european (and american) hi-fi and tv companys died. Quality can be build anywhere. You need a little more to survive in this crazy world, where low price is the mantra! (Yes, yes -I know that more and more B&O is build outside

@ mediabobny: Do You really think that Tandberg's stuff was as goodlooking -or even better than B&O's in the seventies??? Come on... In the mid-seventies B&O made the 1900/2400 series!!! And the classic 4000/4400...Even the "entry level" models, such as the 901/1100 or the 1400/1500 models were in a league of their own. This

I'm not an expert on this -but it might be because some of the electronic components inside is ageing. Probably some capacitors that need to be replaced. I have some 20 to 25 years old tapes that still gives full levels on the VU-meters -so I don't think it's the tapes. And -as you say, they sound good and clear...

Hi Nico I'm not an expert on this, so I can not tell you much more than what is written in the other thread. Appearently the curcuit is called G2 on all CRT's. I guess you adjust the voltage. The one in the circle on the photo is for the green -the other is for red and blue. I adjusted the green -and the lines disappeared. It is still working

Well -I guess we'll have to wait another 15 to 20 years to see if those new foam rings rot like the originals...
