Realy depend what your main use wil be from it. I have an apple tv, and a TVIX 6500 connected to my BV7. The tvix allows a much wider range of formats to be plaed back, but the interface is not a nice as the apple. When using the DVI in on a Mk1 you will not be able to pull up the STB menu. It still works exactly the same using the "GO" button though. eg "Go 1" will pull up your TV guide, "Go 8" to record

There's no reason why wall mounting shouldn't be an option on a plasterboard wall. I have a BV7 40 with 7-2 and motorised wall bracket in the Lounge, and a BV4 65/BL10 in the TV room, both on plasterboard studded walls. You'd be amased at the weight plasterboard will take if you use the right fixings - and ideally hit a stud or upright.
