Rudy Incredibly difficult to start looking for the problem(s) by remote control, after the PCB has been savaged by someone else. This is what it should look like after a correct restoration, and I can offer to do this for you. Of course it is fully calibrated, and you can just connect it and start using it. Menahem

Hey, I thought we were all addicts!

Look at 2IC4 MC1310. Pin 4 is AF left, Pin 5 is AF right. Scope the outputs. Check that C41 - 2.2uF and C43 - 1uF are polarized correctly. Better to use Wima MKS2 bipolars here. Scope TP10 (left) and TP11 (right) to compare. Menahem Yachad

As I mentioned previously, an old stereo dealer has begun thinning out his inventory. He has given me the following units, all in excellent cosmetic condition, but unknown operating condition. All transparent sliders - FM, volume etc are very clean, and operate, although stiffly, so definite candidates for a thorough cleaning. They are available as

Eugene, Do you really want a project? I mean a PROJECT ;-) Here's my BM3400, almost the same circuits as your BM2000 - most of the PCB's are the same. But that's where the similarities stop. Completely restored, actually remanufactured to be more exact. All electrolytic capacitors - naturally. But also all carbon resistors replaced with

Right - so it goes back to our standard BeoWorld mantra to always start with a cap kit ;-)

I had this problem on one a couple of years ago. I did the required recap, new pots and current adjustments. The problem was still there. Turned out that the parallel resistors in the output stage and a zener were shot. That fixed it. Not recommended for repair by a novice. Menahem

I've got a BeoMaster 2400 open here, with a bad Balance slide-potentiometer. I usually disassemble and rebuild these, but this one is beyond repair. The Treble and Bass pots are NOT suitable substuitutes - completely different taper, as well as the wrong resistance. Does anyone have a spare one? - it could be from a BM1900 also. Menahem

The 2 identical circuits are staring at each other on either side of the motor, and I want the exact same voltage in both directions. It's my perfectionist attitude again ;-)
