I would recommend Penta 3's because they are the latest. Penta 1 and 2 have speakerlinks. To my knowledge BC9500 does not have speakerlink but powerlink instead. BC9000 has speakerlinks. To get the display right you need the fully connected powerlink cable (the old thick one). That is working nice with my BS6500 and Penta 2's, which are from

I would also go the 7000 line. Display etc are much nicer (than 5000) and you do not have to turn the device back and forth to push and find the buttons. BL7000 does not have any! BL 5000 tends to be a little fragile, LCD display typically loses characters in time. Well, build is not too bad- ours is 17 years old and still working. With both 5000 and

Alex: I really think there must have been something wrong with the way the BeoSystem 3 was being set up. I honestly have not seen a better picture on the market, by quite a massive margin. I agree about the BeoVision 7 though, really not keen on the picture at the moment (UK version). Hopefully the BeoSystem 3 based one will be along soon! Based on

Bieele: Great post and discussions; I still love my B&O stuff; but lately I get less exited by the release of (part of) the new B&O stuff. The BL5 and 9 were the best product releases of the last years; still expensive; but great value for money! But if I look at the tv range I am far less excited; this part of the market seems to be going to

About impedance: connecting 2 x 6 ohms in parallel makes the setup to be only 3 ohms. 3 ohms is a low impedance in a MCL setup - the system would probably be able to handle this because of the self-protection. My experience with BC9000 is from a setup of Jamo 7.7 in main room and a pair of BV5000's and 2 pairs of RL60.2's in separate link rooms

I would recommend a 1000, 5000 or 7000. MCP6500 will work, but is huge, heavy and consumes batteries (I sold mine beacuse of these reasons). It looks nice, though. The biggest thing you will lack is the RDS functionality that later versions of BL7000 do facilitate. In everyday use BL1000 is still fantastic.

With a system like BS3 controlling practically everything imaginable I would like to have two way remote to see what is happening. Now I need to power up the plasma display to change anything except volume.

I agree mostly with Marcus. I would never buy the BC2 because IMO it is ugly. Ouverture looks nice. Wait a month? for the DVD2.

joeyboygolf: darioazul: Dear All: What is the benefit of two-way communication with the remote? What is it? thnx Dario That is a very good question Dario. I've heard colleagues on this forum rave on about two way communication and I still don't see a worthwhile benefit! C'mon guys, sell it to me!! Principle of two way is excellent and genious

Cabling: Yes and No, you need to run the MCL cable (round or flat) with special plugs (still available, need soldering) to the MCL2A. The plugs are connected to the speakers 2 connection of the BC. Pay attention to left and right. In the MCL2 box the connection of the leads are secured by screws - avoid shortcuts. You run the speakers directly from
